2008 - today 1960 - 2008 1954 - 1960 / / before 1954: History Coderch was in search of an indirect light lamp that he could not find on the market. This quest led him to develop the initial concepts and prototypes of what would become the DISA, paving the way for four subsequent editions.

1954 : DISA Edition 1 After numerous tests and samples, Coderch unveiled the DISA in Spain, soon called the "Coderch Lamp." He also sent units to several prominent figures of the time, including Pablo Picasso, Richard Neutra or Alvar Aalto. 1958 -ZURICH: DISA Presentation In the esteemed company of Max Bill and alongside Mercedes, the sister of Coderch, the DISA lamp was gracefully unveiled in Switzerland. This marked the inaugural presentation of the iconic design. The pumpkin-shaped lamp garnered recognition and was featured in several prestigious publications.

Max Bill presented officially the lamp in Zurich. The "pupkin" lamp became rapidly recognised and named in several magazines. And had a relative impact outside the spanish boundries.
2008 - today 1960 - 2008 1954 - 1960 / / 1967: PICASSO One day, Coderch received a postcard from the painter and sculptor with a hand-drawn sketch of the DISA. Picasso said, "It is the most beautiful modern pendant lamp in the world." The postcard still exists, honoring that moment.
MEANTIME: coderch's concern Coderch invested substantial effort into the DISA, its shadows, proportions, materials and simplicity, "no-tools" concept. Plastic suspension rings were introduced, and the goal of simplifying the lamp's interior structure while stabilizing the initial associated manufacturing processes and quality were key focuses for the architect, following the initial international experiences. FAD GOLD AWARD Several tries were conducted and the design was recognised with this renombrated spanish award. 1984: Edition 4 The DISA established itself as a reference in design, having been in the market for over 30 years by then. The fourth edition was also produced alongside Mercedes (Coderch's sister), who was always close to the product. This version was launched shortly before the architect's passing.
2008 - today 1960 - 2008 1954 - 1960 / / 2008: TUNDS comes to life: the CISTER lamp Rafael, the great-nephew of the architect, unearths a lamp from Coderch's archives, originally devised on a paper napkin and waiting years for someone to bring it to life. This fact marks the beginning of TUNDS, which, forty years later, develops the CISTER and brings it to production as an exclusive edition. 2012: TUNDS and DISA The Edition-5 was in development for nearly two years. This latest edition met all the technical and functional requirements laid down by the master architect, including ones which could not be resolved in his time due to technical issues. Everything was brought into production under the supervision of the "Heirs of Coderch." The product was "dressed", properly packaged and a commercial network was established in Spain. 2024 and Beyond: The GLobe TUNDS is organically positioning in the market where an expansion roadmap is being implemented. And in 2024, we celebrated the 70th anniversary of the iconic DISA lamp by presenting the design of its original edition, a replica of the 1954 creation.
Concurrently, a Special Edition consisting of only 70 units serialized of this inaugural version will be introduced. Passion and Respect for the work of my great-uncle remain central to the positioning of the products published by TUNDS.

As for the future, I’ll keep you updated...
