The Cister lamp is believed to have been designed by architect Coderch de Sentmenat between 1955 and 1970 as part of a collection of several previously unseen lamps.<\/p>\n
This design was unknown and became a true discovery when the architect's sister, Mercedes, showed a pencil- drawn sketch on a paper napkin to Rafael Salvador, Coderch's great-nephew. These were the early days of TUNDS.<\/p>\n
The \u201cbig\u201d version of the Cistercian is often confused with the \u201ccolumn\u201d version. This version is a quarter larger than the standard Cister version. We observed that in some projects, the smallest version was often just enough to coexist in large spaces.<\/p>\n
Today, TUNDS develops and produces it under license and supervision from the Heirs of Coderch de Sentmenat. The lamp is available in suspension versions only, designed for interior use. The structures are made of satin silver anodized aluminum with treated wood shades.<\/p>\n
It features a convenient tool-free assembly solution based on transparent plastic injection parts with magnets for securing the shades. This solution was conceived by TUNDS in its early days in 2005.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
